Directions to Forever Flying
from Huntsville, AL

Come to Decatur from Huntsville by I-565 West. After you cross the causeway and Tennesse River bridge in Decatur it becomes Hwy 31 South (or 6th Ave). Just keep following it south and you'll pass a McDonald's Hamburgers on the left (at 8th St), a Wendys on your left (just past 11th St), and finally a Burger King on your right. At the next traffic light (after the Burger King) turn right. This is Hwy 67 or "Beltline Rd." You'll pass Wal-Mart on your left, then Home Depot also on your left. At the next traffic light (after Home Depot) turn left (beside Calvary Assembly Church) on Glenn Street. On your right after the bank you'll see a place to turn into the parking lot of Decatur Commons (Publix/Stein Mart shopping center). We'll be in the line of stores bordering the left side of the parking lot.

To get to the Decatur Utilities Kite Field, turn north onto Central Pkwy at the reservoir (seen on the north side of the Beltline just past the Kmart shopping center). Central Pkwy intersects Beltline Rd on the west side of the overpass near the KMart shopping center. Now you're headed north around the reservoir (on your left now). You'll go a few blocks to the first traffic light (at 14th St). Continue on straight maybe half a mile ( just past 8th St.) before you'll see Decatur Utilities payment center (1002 Central Pkwy) on the right. The flying field is just past the DU building (on the right also). Just keep going until you get to the next building (DU warehouse/maintenance facility) where you'll see a place to turn in and park right next to the field (on the north side of the field).

(Birmingham, AL or Nashville, TN)

Come to Decatur from Birmingham by I-65 North. Take the Hwy 67 exit (Decatur/Priceville) west to Decatur. After you pass the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge (about 3miles from the Interstate) you'll come to Hwy 31 intersection/traffic light. Continue straight on Hwy 67 (still heading west) past the Kmart shopping center you'll see on your left. After another traffic light or so, ou'll pass Wal-Mart on your left, then Home Depot also on your left. At the next traffic light (after Home Depot) turn left (beside Calvary Assembly Church) on Glenn Street. On your right after the bank you'll see a place to turn into the parking lot of Decatur Commons (Publix/Stein Mart shopping center).
